Team Allocation & Coach / Manager
Players in the Miniroos Under 6 – Under 9 ages do not take part in grading – these teams are allocated by the age coordinators.
For any new players to the club, we will do our best to put them into a team that they request to play in, but only if there is a vacant position. We have a policy of having a maximum of seven players in each team for Under 7s and a maximum of ten players for the Under 8s and Under 9s. We will not displace existing team members to make way for special requests.
Once registrations have closed and teams have been finalised, all players will be contacted by their respective age coordinators/coaches/managers. This usually occurs in April.
The coach and manager are responsible for contacting each of their team members to inform them of what is expected of them during the season, including training times (if they have them – generally, only U8s and above will have a formal training session during the week for about an hour – depending on coach and parents), draw information, canteen roster, special events etc.
Team Strip (Uniforms)
All of the Belsouth strips (jerseys) are owned by the Club, and will be distributed to the team coach/manager once the teams have been finalised for the season. Players will receive their team strip at the first training session/first game.
All players at the club require Belsouth socks, shorts, shin pads and soccer boots. Exception regarding socks for Peewees and U7s as all games are at home, can be very difficult to get our colours in little sizes.
Players should also wear adequate footwear. If you purchase football boots, the types with multiple moulded studs are recommended as they provide good stability. Belsouth runs a second-hand boot pool from the merchandise store.
Shorts, Belsouth socks, shin pads (which are mandatory for games and practice) and other uniform items can be purchased from the Belsouth Merchandise shop.
NOTE: Players are allowed to long sleeve t’shirts under their team strip during colder weather.
