Peewees

Under 4 – Under 6

Register in the age you turn this year, unless you play up a year with your friends.

The Belsouth Peewees program focuses on:

1. Developing the skills of the players in a fun and positive environment, and

2. Developing the knowledge of parents and carers so that they feel better able to help develop their child skills.

General Game Information

All Peewees games take place on Saturdays.

  • Start Date: Saturday 11th May 2024
  • Location: Walhallow Street, Hawker (Field 4) – Field 4 is the closest to the canteen and main car parks.
  • Time: 10am arrival for 10.30am start. The Peewees session runs from 10.30am – 11.30am.

Each Peewees child will receive their own ball and top as part of their registration.

What To Bring

  • All players must wear shin guards and long socks to cover the shin guards.
  • There is no compulsory uniform – players can wear shorts or tracksuits.
  • Everyone will be provided with a bib to wear on the day.
  • Please bring a drink bottle.

How It Works

Children will be placed in groups of 4 to move around a rotation of skills stations. These stations are aimed at the basic soccer skills of controlling, dribbling, passing/shooting and the fundamental motor skills of running, dodging and spatial awareness.

Players then play a couple of friendly 4 v 4 games on small-sided games.

Parent Help

Peewees depends on parent involvement to help run the stations and games, help set up and pack up.

Our Peewee coordinators are there to lead, organise and move through the stations to help coach and develop the players.  Each station has instructions and after the first week you will become very familiar with the stations.

Please do not panic about this – it is easy and the more parents that helps the easier it is.

NOTE: All players must have 1 adult accompanying them for the entire session.
